New buildings tower over Cameron Village

Located seconds away from Cameron Village’s extensive variety of shops and restaurants, the Crescent Cameron Village and the 401 Oberlin Phapartment complexes had a reason for being in such a close vicinity to the ever expanding shopping center. For over a year, these two buildings have been going up, causing anticipation throughout Raleigh for the handful of new shops, restaurants, and especially new Cameron Village residents and traffic. Even though there has been some controversy over these new buildings shooting up and how they might affect the ambiance of Cameron Village’s one story shopping center atmosphere, they have a lot of new additions in store for the community.

About 20 feet closer to the Cameron Village shopping center than the 401 Oberlin apartments, the Crescent Cameron Village building is equipped with an assortment of new shops that makes the shopping center better than ever before. On the bottom level of this five story building, Faire, Parlor, FlyWheel, Benelux, Brixx, and Hand and Stone are all available. New Cameron Village developments hope to attract shoppers.

Adding to the spectrum of stores provided in Cameron Village. “We have state of the art amenities with an upscale look to our apartments. We offer a 24 hour fitness center, a salt-water pool, a clubhouse, a demonstration kitchen, and a wine cellar,” said a Crescent Cameron Village representative. Across the street, 401 Oberlin contrasts with Crescent Cameron Village by exhibiting more of a “sleek and modern” architectural approach. Within the 401 Oberlin community, they provide a salt-water pool, entertainment centers, work out facilities and a view of Raleigh’s skyline from the top of the 6 story midrise apartments. “[401 Oberlin] encourages the all important balance between work and play”, said Jenna Cameron, leasing associate, hence the abundance of amenities provided as well. One store that has stirred up some excitement over its opening is Tupelo Honey Cafe, an award winning “twist on Southern style cooking” restaurant located on the ground level of 401 Oberlin. In addition to Tupelo Honey, a nail salon and an AT&T store are launching as well.

Towering over Cameron Village, both apartment complexes provide similar luxuries and stores bettering the shopping center and neighborhood.

Because of their close proximity and convenience to Glenwood South, downtown and a collection of stores, these apartments will surely bring in a new wave of Raleigh and Cameron Village residents.
