The Puppy Bowl is a fun event featuring dogs that are in shelters. Some have been adopted, but some aren’t. Touchdowns are scored when a dog carries a toy into the end zone. There are a lot of toys scattered throughout the playing field, which the dogs all have access to. This puppy bowl has been going on for about 19 years. It is always a big event alongside the Superbowl. It raises awareness for dogs kept in shelters waiting for adoption. Every year after the puppy bowl, more and more puppies are adopted. The 2023 Puppy bowl was held Sunday February 12, 2023. It was against Team Fluff and Team Ruff. Team Fluff pulled out the win with a score of 87-83, a very close game with a small margin of victory. Team Fluff had a superpower on their team, known as Majesty. Majesty is team Fluff’s captain and the team is centered around her. It was a blowout in the first half with team Ruff down by 31. In the second half, they came back and tied the game up to send it to the first ever overtime in the history of the Puppy Bowl. In the end, Vivianne scored the winning touchdown for team Fluff.
