John Wall Holliday Invitational

Just like the old saying goes, “all good things must come to an end” so has the men’s basketball team’s season. This however, doesn’t go without many great moments in the season such as beating rival Sanderson twice and having a good showing in the John Wall Holliday Invitational.

The Caps finished 16-12 and were fourth in the conference. They made it to the second round of the state playoffs before losing in a double overtime thriller to Garner.

While the Caps may not have finished the season as high as they wished, they still enjoyed every moment of this season and will cherish it for years to come. This season was a great sendoff to the hardworking seniors of the team.

“My favorite moment was after the big win against Cary early in the year,” senior Jimbo Stanley said.

“My favorite moment was after winning in the first round of the playoffs against Hillside. We were all so excited and played together as team,” senior Jack Holloway said.

While the Caps lose senior Jimbo Stanley and senior captain Jack Holloway, they return 10 of the 12 members and 7 of the 10 will be seniors. As always, the sky’s the limit for what the Caps can accomplish.

“I am looking forward to having an experienced and senior oriented team next year,” junior Corbin Holder said.
