September 5, 2025. Los Angeles authorities reported a vile odor emitting from the front trunk of an impounded Tesla. The car had been sitting on a public street for several weeks before it was towed. What’s more, this car had been registered under the name of one of the most iconic music producers of 2025, David Anthony Burke, otherwise known as “D4vd.”
D4vd is an American singer and songwriter who is currently well known for his hit songs “Romantic Homicide,” which is still one of his most successful songs to this day; “Feel it,” which he wrote for the popular American show “Invincible”; and “Here with me,” which is yet another song that made him go viral.
The body was identified as a 14-year-old girl named Celeste Rivas Hernandez, who met D4vd when she was 12. On September 8th, 2025, she was pronounced dead, on what would have been her 15th birthday. The remaining dates and locations of D4vd’s tour, as well as a deluxe release of Withered, were canceled due to the investigation. The two were reported to have a romantic relationship, which wasn’t unheard of, according to Rivas’ family and friends. As for D4vd, his friends reported that they thought she was 19 years old. This was due to D4vd bringing Rivas along to age-restricted events, as well as using multiple fake IDs and matching tattoos on their fingers marked “Sshhhh.” Alongside all of this, an unreleased D4vd song titled “Celeste_Demo unfin” mentions a girl named “Celeste” multiple times.
“We know that the Tesla had been parked at the location from which it was towed for several weeks, so it is very likely Celeste Rivas Hernandez had been dead for several weeks prior to her body being discovered,” says LAPD Captain and Commanding Officer Scot M. Williams. This chilling discovery of decomposition suggests that the body had been sitting there for several weeks in the parked car while D4vd was on tour.
The parents of Celeste Rivas Hernandez have reached out on social media to gather support for the cause of finding her, as well as setting up a GoFundMe to collect funds to hire investigators and recover from this incident. Fliers have been posted around Rivas’ neighborhood, and residents are actively gathering evidence. While D4vd hasn’t been convicted as of Oct 29th, 2025, all of the signs point towards him. In accordance with this, brands such as Hollister and Crocs have also removed him from their ad campaigns. Do you think D4vd is guilty, and whose fault is this in the end?
