Caps Connection has been used in many ways to allow kids to catch up on work, get help from teachers, have a break, and talk to friends. There are many different ways teachers are allowing this: as classes for study hall, help for certain classes, and even movie watching and drawing. For example, Mr. O held a Shark Tank watching session. Many students think the Caps Connection is very beneficial as they can study before tests and complete them; however, others don’t necessarily love it because it pushes back classes, meaning later release periods and shorter lunches. Many people use their time for good and have been getting lots of help, but some people wish they could do more after school or have more time for release periods.
Caps Connection can be used in so many different ways. For example, students are signing up for a Chinese yo-yo caps connection, which shows how the school is giving students time and opportunity to do things students have never really done before, and opens us up to new, fun activities. Other students are allowed to sign up for quiet and regular study halls. These Caps Connections give us time to study before quizzes and tests, which most students find very helpful. “I enjoy Caps Connection because I can get one-on-one tutoring from my teachers when I am confused about a topic in class. I use most of the Caps Connection time before tests, and I feel they help me a lot,” junior Madison Newman said.
On the other hand, students have had issues with signing up as clubs may be full, as well as club meetings being hard to figure out the timing. If students need to go to their club meetings, they may not be able to go to teachers’ Caps Connections to finish tests, which may cram their schedules. The Caps Connection time also pushes back the schedule, and students have complained about this affecting their releases. For example, students with first-period releases have to be back for Caps Connection and may have a harder time being on time. “I feel like it’s unfair that my release period is later than it would have been without Caps Connection, and I wish my release could be easier,” said junior Julia Forbes.
