Ms. Parrish:

“If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?”

Aruba, I don’t like cold weather and it is 80+ degrees there all year.

“What is your favorite artist/song?”

I am a big country music fan, and my favorite artists are Morgan Wallen, Luke Combs, Blake Shelton and Maren Morris.

“Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life and why?”

Sandra Bullock She is passionate about all her roles and she represents who the characters really are in real life.

“If you could play any musical instrument what would it be?”

In middle school, I played the trumpet and that didn’t work out very well, so now I think I would like to play the guitar.

“What is your hometown known for?”

I grew up in Henderson, NC, right along the NC/VA border.  My city was known as the Gateway City.  We never knew what it was the gateway to …maybe VA or maybe Kerr Lake which is a large lake near Henderson.  No one could ever figure that out.

“What is something important to you that you never really talk about?”

There were several people throughout my life that have inspired me to be an educator:   my high school Biology teacher, a fellow teacher and two assistant principals that I have worked with. They always believed in me and encouraged me to continue my career in education.  Early in my career, I took jobs in other career fields, but I always came back to education.  Those mentors helped me realize where my passion lies.

“If you could pick a day to relive over and over, what day would it be and why?”

I could not pick just one.  The days that I would pick over and over again would be my wedding day (even though it was 100 degrees and my wedding cake melted on the table) and the two days that my son and daughter were born.  Family is very important to me.
