Raleigh welcomed 2017 with its first wave of snow on Saturday. School was canceled from January 9th to 11th, giving students a much needed break.

If this week seems longer than usual, blame Mother Nature. Students and teachers will experience two B-days in a row–Thursday and Friday–as the Wake County School System begins the process of making up three days of inclement weather vacation in early January.

This Friday, Jan. 27, was to be a teacher workday.  Instead, it is a B-day make-up day to replace Jan. 9.

Other scheduled make-up days are all former teacher workdays–Feb. 20 and March 31. Students will not have any days off until Spring Break April 8-16. An early release day on Feb. 10 is the only break in the schedule until then.
