Lady soccer nets success

The Lady Caps soccer team is off to a strong start, bringing home 6 wins out of 7 games. The girls talent might promise a spot at the state championship.

With coaching from Kelly Mastin and help from Dani Blackwell, Broughton’s girl soccer team has been put to work, which might be the reason for their successful season and potential state championship win.

“I think we have a chance of making it to the state championship if we work as hard as we’ve been working and want it more than any other team, which we do” Sophomore Savannah Jones said.

The girls team has improved since last year, whose record was 8-9.

New younger talent are filling graduated players cleats, such as freshman players Taylor Sutter, Meredith Brown and Lucy Krueger.

“So far we’ve been doing really well. We have had a great season and we’ve been working really hard, and it’s been showing.  All the players have been showing improvement, so I’m confident in the rest of the season’s success” Sutter said.

Emma Willard, Junior, is another valuable player, who is the team’s top scorer and responsible for many of the team’s goals.

Captains for the varsity team are Dakota Zuehlke, Carson Taylor and Allie Cutler.
