Lady caps lax dominates conference

The lady caps lacrosse team was very satisfied coming off of a victory of 18-1 on Tuesday, March 10th against Enloe. The women’s lacrosse team has very high expectations for the 2015 season.

Although losing star player Kelsey Dupree, they believe they have the ability to have a winning season. Losing Dupree does not give the team doubts of winning conference, regionals or states. Senior Sydney Fry knows she has big shoes to fill.

“Although we lost Kelsey, I still believe we can make it a great season. Our current plan is to play the season game by game. Our first goal is to win conference and go on from there.” Sophomore Carol  Seigler said.

Seigler also knows she must step up. She may only be a sophomore but she is one of the key players. She last year came on the team as a freshman and finished the season with a total of 16 goals.

The girls have won each of their games so far this season. They not only have won each game, they have dominated each game. After the Enloe victory, they traveled to Wake Forest where the came out on top by 17 goals. They defeated Leesville road and Heritage both 20-7.  Millbrook and  Sanderson were also defeated by the lady Caps. They have won each game by an average of 15 goals.

They know this is not how every game this season will be. They will still fight hard to the final whistle in order to achieve their final goal.

The girls know they must build up as a team in order to achieve their highest goal of winning states. They may be missing last year’s varsity head coach but they are also excited about new head coach abilities in coaching the highly skilled ladies to a state championship.

All the girls are excited for the season but they know they must put forth 100% all the time in order to have the best season possible.
